Terms of use

1. What NomadShare is

NomadShare is a free, peer-to-peer platform where travelers list gear they own and arrange short loans with each other using an internal points balance. The points are a coordination tool to keep exchanges balanced — they are not money, not redeemable for cash, and have no monetary value.

2. You transact at your own risk

Every exchange happens directly between two users. NomadShare is not a party to the transaction. We do not:

• verify the identity or background of users beyond basic sign-in;
• inspect, insure, or guarantee the condition of any item;
• handle real-world money, deposits, or refunds;
• mediate in-person disputes, damage claims, or losses;
• guarantee that a meeting or hand-off is safe.

You are responsible for your own safety when meeting other users and for any agreement you make with them about deposits, damage, or return.

3. Your responsibilities

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Only list items you legally own and have the right to lend.
• Describe items honestly. Don't list anything prohibited by our listing rules or by local law.
• Treat other users with respect. No harassment, discrimination, threats, or fraud.
• Don't try to circumvent moderation, scrape the site, or abuse the points system.

4. Account suspension

We may suspend or remove accounts, listings, or messages that violate these terms or the listing rules. Because the platform is volunteer-run, we cannot promise a fixed review or appeal time.

5. No warranty

NomadShare is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific user, listing, or exchange will meet your expectations.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the people running NomadShare are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or dispute arising from your use of the platform or from an exchange with another user. Because we don't charge fees, there are no fees to refund.

7. Reporting problems

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the project evolves. Continued use of NomadShare after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Governing law

Because NomadShare is a non-profit community without a specific corporate seat, any dispute is governed by the laws applicable to the operator's place of residence. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you locally.
